What part of what Rayner said do you disagree with, & is it what she said, the fact that she said it, or what you think she meant by it that you object to? Do you not agree that people in deprived areas feel that their position is made worse by immigrants? They may be wrong but they do think that.
The reason they think that is because politicians keep telling them that rather than being truthful about reasons for poverty and deprivation (which are owing to politicians’ failings)
I don’t disagree with that, but we are where we are, and with people spending 4 hours on social media stoking up these mistaken ideas and propaganda, and with Farage seeming to encourage violent disorder… there is a crisis looming now.
If we want to move FROM 'where we are' TOWARDS 'where we want to be', then the answer to mistaken ideas and propaganda ISN'T "they're making a good point, tho"... Ironically, people 'moving from where they are to where they want to be' is a recognized phenomenon...
