Pls indulge me and describe how a communist future for the three countries would have looked like, in your opinion?
Pls indulge me and describe how a communist future for the three countries would have looked like, in your opinion?
I guess this guy can answer.
Also North Korea is next to China, another communist country that's currently doing far better than America and it's set to surpass them economically in less than 30 years. youtube.com/shorts/vIYSG... :)
Sure comrade! 🤣😂
There's a reason North Korea failed and it wasn't communism. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bodo_Le...
You're right, he can. youtu.be/rilsusMsYfA?...
There's a reason communism struggled and it's not the propaganda you've been fed your whole life without once questioning.
You are very quick when jumping to conclusions. Got it.
You use a newspaper article about someone in Afghanistan as a proof for something something. So what's your point? Does this has anything to do with the GDP and Gini index in Estonia?
And this is exactly why all three of those countries would have failed. Not because of communism, belit because of blatant, openly admitted US interventionalism and assault.
I won't interact with you anymore. I highly recommend to read this and ponder its implications on your line of reasoning:
"What would these countries look like today if still communist." "They wouldn't look good because they would be a direct victim of American imperialism and the Truman Doctrine which saw the US sabotage dozens of countries and governments around the globe in a concerted documented effort." "Nuh uh"
Nah, I'm good.
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_... Woops. Over 90 undemocratic assaults on democracy and blatant US backed coup attempts/interventions and government take overs to this day. Even Obama got in on the action because we all know American progressives only care about their own personal progression.
This is boring. I am a scientific person. You shy away from sticking to the point you were making and instead you are just throwing out well known factoids, hopping from Estonia to Afghanistan to S. America. This is a tedious type of communication. I have no time for that. Bye.
It's also very telling that every time a socialist government gets over thrown in Latin America, it's always replaced with brutal fascist rightwing dictators. Ironic coming from a country that supposedly loves liberty, democracy, and progressivism.
For something that just naturally fails and doesn't work, it's amazing how much effort and money Capitalism has spent attacking it.
There's a common theme about why communism tends to fail or struggle here but I can't quite seem to put my finger on it ...
Cuba was fine under Castro's control until he nationalized the sugar plantations at which point the US then tried to kill him over 500 times and placed the worlds harshest sanctions on the country.
Venezuela nationalized the largest oil reserves on the planet. It was hit with intense sanctions and survived multiple us backed coup attempts
Bolivia nationalized the world's largest Lithium mine. It was couped in weeks by US backed groups.
Ok, you can stop now, I think get your point. You think that the USA is the reason why communism fails, right?
Not dissimilar to when America was best friends with Saddam Hussein all while he was using US made gas to massacre his own people, up until the very moment he nationalized his oil. At which point America destroyed the ENTIRE country to get the oil back.
Communism is so undermined and subversively assaulted by capitalism and imperialism ie America literally creating the entire global terrorist crisis decades ago, inadvertantly, to thwart Russia from aiding a civilian uprising in Afghanistan against a brutal tyrant to secure US oil futures.
My bad, The Independent, not The Washington Post. www.businessinsider.com/1993-indepen...
Someone? That's literally The Washington Post praising Osama Bin Laden and talking about how the US government is supporting his "righteous crusade" against Russia lol.
Ah, so you think I'm reading the Washington Post and the article proves that's how I have been fed with propaganda all of my life without questioning? Got it. No, I don't read that newspaper.
We can talk about Cointelpro or the 76 coup attempts in Latin America or the 509 assassination attempts on Castro's life or how the CIA armed, funded and trained Osama Bin Laden and the Mujahideen to become terrorists to fight communism in Afghanistan, leading to the crisis today... But youre dumb.
Those states would have failed, you're right. But because they where too small to withstand NATO imperialist actions like Operation Belladonna etc. we can talk about how The US helped Nazis win positions of power in Ukraine starting in 1946 to fight communism or Operation Condor but you're not ready
Youre especially not ready to break down the effects of different forms of communism, imperialism, western efforts to sabotage entire countries and the dialectics of it all and instead just lump it all into "communism" like it's all one and the same while you specifically point out three Soviet stts
We could discuss how China is doing better than America correctly, or how Vietnam is still a communist country and doing quite fine. We could talk about how 80 percent of former communist countries that switched to capitalism never really recovered. You're not ready for that.
How on earth China is a communist country? Vietnam doing fine? Like, finer than Ireland, Singapore or Chile?
Also I was wrong. Vietnam is ranked higher than 80 capitalist countries in multiple factors like prosperity, happiness, safety, and economy. It's ranked higher than 140+ capitalist countries. it's ranked 87 in terms of human rights rule and law which isnt great... But the US is ranked 59. :)
China is a communist government utilizing a state capitalist economy. It is communist despite your cope.
Please contain your ignorance. It's doing better than over 80 capitalist countries. :)
You forgot this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_r...
Isn't your country currently committing the worst genocide to occur since WW2 and aidong in a apartheid? Isnt your country responsible for dropping enough bombs on a single city to equal the explosive force of the Hiroshima nukes? IS THIS YOU, KING? www.bradford.ac.uk/news/archive...
?
Oh you forgot this www.hrw.org/world-report... India is a capitalist country and has worse human rights violations than Vietnam. As well as ranking lower in every other index too. Please keep trying to deflect though, you only paint a broader picture of your ignorance.
Weird how you live in a country currently deporting citizens for dissenting speech A country that kills civilians in other countries around the globe just for fun. A country where the military is roaming the streets. Where there are 10000 cameras on every street corner but you have the BALLS to talk
This you, King?
You forgot this. phr.org/our-work/res...
You're imagining things when trigered, right? Is everone who disagrees with you automatically American? That aside, are all individual citizens responsible for their gov atrocities?
Vietnam violates HR: "Evil bad terrible place, all civilians support the evil government and are simultaneously oppressed." America violates HR and literally causes majority of global military conflict: "The government exists in a vacuum and literally no one is to blame for anything ever."
Are we talking about America now? What is that whataboutism for?
I never said Vietnam was perfect, I said it was "fine" and by all metrics, it is and it is doing better than 50% the planet and 50% of what capitalism has to offer and most of if not all of the the surrounding capitalist countries, especially Myanmar and India with their flagrant REAL HR violations.
Nor did you mention that a large percent of the groups that organize human rights watches and statistics tend to be western organizations funded by the very countries and governments that actively seek to disparage socialism and communism, or The World Bank etc, which use biased metrics.
And to go further, you also didn't breakdown on what passes as human rights violations, a majority of which are mostly just a crackdown on criticizing the government in various forms or outside influence on religion, which is common in countries that deal with subversive imperialism.
And to go even further, you see Americans as individuals but not the Vietnamese, even though they rate in the top 25% of all countries for individual happiness despite the government. You said it yourself at the end of that comment, or at least Implied it.
Which is a common capitalist tactic. Only communist countries commit attrocities. When talking about capitalist success, you have no problems never bringing up the horrid attrocities that propelled capitalism to the forefront but it's the opposite when discussing communism, every single time.
Man, really, read the wiki article about massive human rights abuses in Vietnam. Indeed, the country achieved some economic progress (ironically, via incorporating capitalism). But it jails ppl for 8 years for criticizing government on FB like every other fucking communist dictatorship.
Btw, can you stick to the point? Your clumsy generalizations along with failed mind reading regarding my nationality or being a "capitalist", is just embarassing. Besides, it doesn't bring anything to the discussion.
WHaT lIkE cOmParEd tO iReLanD oR cHiLe? responsiblestatecraft.org/pinochet-chi... 40,000 victims.
It's also fun that you mentioned comparing Vietnam to Chile because apparently you have no beef Pinochet or the fact that his brutal capitalist regime that slaughtered thousands and repressed millions in an undemocratic take over, was also backed and landed by America nacla.org/remembering-...
Chile: Most brutal capitalist regime in South American history. Silence. Vietnam: Arrests 160 people for dissenting. Communism evil.
America turns a blind eye to Saddam massacring his own citizens (capitalist country) until he decides to nationalize the oil. Then he's suddenly a bad guy. America dgaf about Venezuela until they suddenly nationalize their oil. Now they're a brutal regime. America dgaf about Vietnam and why?
Not only is there a significantly large community of American Ex-Pat immigrants living in Vietnam, America gives so little of a fuck about the communist government simply because they allowed themselves to be bent over and financially exploited and become one of America's top trade partners.
Also it's not ironic in the least that switching to a capitalist economy benefits these countries. America will literally murder your entire country until you give in to a system that it can benefit from which is why America FUCKING LOVES Vietnam right now despite the government lol.
www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
My favorite part about researching the people arrested www.hrw.org/news/2024/09... Is that every single article that mentions actual details always mentions Radio Free Asia, the largest and most well known CIA propaganda outlet America has.
Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Uganda, Etriea, Turkey, Hong Kong, Iran, Nicaragua, Egypt, Russia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, The Philippines... All capitalist, all just as bad if not worse. But again, we don't attach that charge to capitalism. We only attach it to communism when evaluating these metrics.
America just sent militaries into its own street to crack down on protests and free speech specifically against government overreach and human rights violations as cops with more funding than some countries militaries where just murdering citizens on the streets in rampant racial discrimination
Yeah and? Saudia Arabia is capitalist. They'll just behead you. Myanmar is capitalist. They'll just shoot you dead. Iran is capitalist. Good luck there. Hong Kong arrests dissenters for up to 3 years. America just deported dozens of people for pro Palestinian speech.
You are naming countries which are dictatorships. There's caputalism in Vietnam Russia and China and all of those states tteattheir ppl miserably.
Not only did you attempt to completely discredit any and all metrics based simply on one thing, you also again ignored the fact that even according to that metric, human rights, Vietnam is still surpassing over 60% of the other countries on the planet. Almost all of which are capitalist.
You're on an American social media site with a primarily American user base. The assumption that you're American is valid. My point was that you bringing up human rights to downplay Vietnam being "fine" as a country is invalid and hypocritical compared to the leading capitalist country.
You aren't educated enough to have this conversation with unfortunately considering you've failed mention Russia is currently a capitalist country and not doing so hot lol India is capitalist. Failure. Iran is capitalist. Failure. Most African countries are capitalist. Failures. The list goes on.
So after enumerating various examples for countries which switched to capitalism, what's your conclusion? Was there a realistic pathway to stay a communist country for any of the three, and what would have been the economic outlook?
I mean, one strong counterpoint is that none of the three countries decided for communism in the first place. It was forced upon them after being occupied by Russia. So they were in a different situation than both PR China and Vietnam because communism was connected to heteronomy.
