Has anyone said what this AI magic wand thingo is actually supposed to do to make everything better. Besides pictures of cats in space or a woman with five breasts. Will we have robots building apartments soon for example.
Labor needs to decouple themselves from neoliberal techbro moralists, which is an insane statement.
There really does need to be a reality check in regard to “AI” as it is nothing of the sort, it is not an intelligence nor will it be. Whilst it will certainly have applications where it excels it is not some kind of algorithmic utopia as envisioned by the grifters pushing it hard at the moment.
My spidey sense tells me the 30,000 locked up approvals are just the current business-as-usual number that you'd expect to have
I'm already totally sick of AI and of hearing about it
“The Koalas are stopping the young people getting homes”
Make the building blocks bigger and legislate at least one Koala friendly tree in every block. It would also provide more shade and nicer suburbs
Bigger blocks aren’t such a great idea but requiring local native plants and other measures to make suburbs more biodiverse would be a great move.
Current block sizes couldn't host a one man band. So there needs to be open areas ( think football ground without the football ground) with corridors of trees. ATM it's all about money ... no one really gives a shit about our Koalas. If you just once cuddled even a possum you would change.
I think we’re on the same page more or less. I like higher density housing on average but with large common parks featuring native vegetation linked with greenbelts.
Our suburban possums are mostly big Brushtails with monstrous claws. We have smaller gliders in the local nature parks. I rescued an injured one I found on the ground once. Much safer to cuddle.
Won't Labor just find some other tissue thin pretext for selling out? they're really not interested in government, just want to hand the job over to the plutocrats Hal.
And can’t touch taxation.
The Revolving Door Project has been critiquing the Abundance agenda for some time. Regulatory "red tape" is not the main reason why we're not building enough affordable housing and clean energy. Concentrated economic and political power (i.e., oligarchy) is the biggest culprit.
