How many more artists are going to be silenced by Zionist powerbrokers?
The control of Australian institutions by minority groups is an absolute disgrace. Censorship has just taken a deadly turn. History is repeating!
Tertiary education is no longer for development of independent thought. It’s now just a facility to be trained for corporate roles, sponsored by the corporations. Even the assessments are touched by their kpi & need justified bottom-line returns to continue. (Hence why they’ve gutted the arts)
Although this has been their pose, Tertiary Institutions have never really been about independent thought. Conservative orthodoxy has been their speciality. There are some very good reasons why Melbourne University has traditionally been referred to as "The Shop".
There certainly used to be more kicking against the pricks than silent submission. Like when the student union ensured povo students could get a drink & a feed. Now it’s the same price (or higher) than regular businesses. It has changed markedly since Howard.
What seems like a million years ago I participated in a mock crucifixion during Easter at Monash. The (as it was then) Sun had a fit and then it went away. Imagine if that were done now.
Oh the hijinks of the old days are well past is. It’s now frowned upon to be inebriated (the Tavern is deserted after the flashy refurb) I remember puking in the quad was a first year rite of passage.
First and last beer in the Not(ting Hill Pub). Have you got any lectures or tutes today? Fucked if I know.
Comfortable being just a degree factory
Somehow certification has become more important than knowledge.
For which no one has to be held accountable.
It’s never anybody’s fault!
If you are Zeyenitz, it is always someone else's fault.
Criticize Israel at your peril, revenge is a god given right
Two hundred grand??? Unimelb spends more than that on a parking space. Destroying a cultural institution of Meanjin's standing to save that much money makes no sense. There has to be more to this than finances.
These hallowed halls, these corridors of free intellectual pursuit have always actually been about propping up existing power and wealth. In the last 50 years or so they have had to pretend even harder to be dispassionate dispensers of knowledge but they have become ideological dogma supermarkets.
