I'm in Oregon, watch a couple network newscasts to keep up with national news, but this is the first I've heard of this case. You know if it were reversed, the Hispanics shot a guy for being white, it would be breaking news.

That's because local news mainly reports on crimes committed by African Americans and Hispanics. It's not because Whites don't commit crimes, but because it gives the networks more ratings because people generally believe that minorities are criminals. I'm Hispanic and see this all too often.
I get that, but national news is much more cringeworthy than local news here. I'm in Portland, one of the whitest cities in the country, but it's also a blue sanctuary city. Frankly, a couple local stations here could teach networks a thing or two about factual, unbiased reporting.
That is very heartening to hear. It is serious work to find reliably factual news/journalism these days!
I no longer watch local news, I get national news from the meidas touch network, occupy democrats and the rest of the left leaning independent media too.
I would also recommend The Guardian and Reuters - getting a perspective from outside the US taps into separate sources that are not predisposed to spin the reporting to a favorable light for the administration.
I'll check th8out! Thanks for the suggestions 😀
All great suggestions!👍🏾👍🏾🤗💐
Anthony!! Good morning my friend! 🥰
Hope all is well in your world today!
It's going great, well, as far as it can be could be with what's going on in our country. I hope you've been well.
Interesting tip. Thanks! I notice when I see protests internationally but hadn't considered international media as a source of information for what's happening here. 👍
Some local outlets here are more dedicated to truth than others, and noticeable turnover gives me hope that at least some journalists are in it for the good fight. Love seeing resources like @meidastouch.com and @democracydocket.com emerge as trustworthy media leaders and homes for truth-tellers.
Indeed. I'm taking about local city news channels. I live in Houston Texas and I see almost all crimes they report on are of African Americans and Hispanics. I'm sure it's like this throughout the country. I blame these networks for the rampant racism and stereotyping of minorities as criminals.
💯 Sending 🤎!
Whatever you are hearing on network news is probably biased or an outright lie. Read the Heather Cox Richardson newsletter for accurate news, or watch MeidasTouch on YouTube. Stop feeding the beast.
I've long accepted network news is shit and continues to get dramatically worse. I get the truth here but like most people, I don't have time to take deeper dives. At least I can get a hint of the chaos and lies while doing chores.
I live in NE Washington State, and this is the first time I've heard of this. Our local news is from Spokane, and they're red through and through.
I can only imagine how the news you get from your local stations is different than what I get in Portland. Our news about red SE Oregon probably pales in comparison to what you see about Idaho.
