thats how the prison system works they lease out prisoners in California to fight wildfires for 2 dollars an hour. when youre in jail you can try and survive alongside gangs who kill each other based on skin color and drug addicts who will stab you for looking at them wrong or you can get leased out

she was in a position to deny the yse of slave labour and chose not too, she and her husband had the power to change the system several times and did fuck all to do so. and weird way to hone in on drug addicts who are often victimized by the system.
