In @nytopinion.nytimes.com “If Netanyahu makes the colossal mistake of trying to permanently reoccupy Gaza, then no thoughtful person can be pro-Israel without also being against him,” our columnist Bret Stephens writes.

Hamas will kill all hostages as IDF reaches their tunnels. How will hostage families and Israelis accept even more tragedy? Stupid Trump can stop this one call to criminal Bibi. He deserves Nobel peace prize for stopping further killing.

IDF bombing collapsed those tunnels a year ago. Those hostages are all dead, by Israel’s design. Read up on The Hannibal Directive. They’d rather kill hostages than allow them to be used to leverage release of the 30,000 Palestinian civilians Israel is illegally holding in their torture prisons.

Without characterizing Stephen's thought process, if we accept the std ratio of 20 troops/1k residents, then the IDF needs a min of 40k troops to occupy Gaza effectively. How practical is that in the face of Haredi intransigence & reservist burnout after 2 yrs of war?

“Few things hurt Israel more than the global perception, however tendentious, that it’s deliberately starving kids.” Is it “tendentious” anywhere but NYT editorial writers offices? No. It’s demonstrably true. They allow no food into Gaza. Kids starve. They bomb refugee camps. Kids die. GTFOH.

I am perplexed by Netanyahu. It was HIS fault for leaving a porous border that allowed for 10/7. Israel had to retaliate. Hamas is to blame for what happened in the aftermath. They knew the calculation. Netanyahu has only made things worse. The region would do well w/o Bibi, Hamas, and Hezbollah.

Netanyahu is Trump, only smarter. He is a racist, was not respectful to President Obama and the Dems. The people of Israel are not complicit. Palestinians are not complicit either, Hamas is a terrorist group. Like Israel, Palestine and the U.S. they voted for the wrong guy and political party.

It’s wild that Christians think they have the right to speak for Jewish people and tell them what is and isn’t antisemitism. Of course when they put on their White people hats they think they can tell Black people what is and isn’t racism. So I suppose it’s the same thing.
