There are wildfires going on now in Scotland. But yea capitalists say it’s best to continue on as if all the forests hadn’t been burned by now. I’d suggest a more drastic effort from all of us. Demand better public transportation, and then use it.
Can we start bulldozing coal fire plants and cutting off pipelines yet? Or do people still think the immediate impact would somehow be worse than just letting this continue as it has been? If we’d gone cold turkey in the 80s it would have sucked for about a decade and then we’d have been fine.

Every fucking year!! What they fail to mention is, only 5% is from natural causes, 45% is negligence, but 50% is arson (forests) because 100% assholes are exploiting loopholes to build on wildfire-scorched land. This is a major problem in Greece, Spain, and Albania, where wildfires are rampant.
Yes, this. I tracked the arson cases around the time of the Pasadena fires and even after the fires got started, they caught numerous arsonists lighting fires (or attempting to light them) and making it worse after the fires were already raging. They have a variety of motives for doing it.

Some were anarchists, some delinquents, some were homeless and I wonder if maybe someone paid them to do it. Also, there are always a few arsons (usually around 3 am or so) that are people trying to collect on insurance. Don't know how prevalent they are but if the fire gets out of control...

Firstly, this is horrible. I hope all these fires can be extinguished as soon possible. Most importantly, that people, and animals are saved and safe, and suffer the least possible. From the research I have done, a lot of these fires are started by people who want a job putting them out. SO SAD!
Yes, most fires are started by people. Once they get started the climate has much to do with the severity and spread, but the simple truth is that the majority of fires are caused by people and one of those causes is arson. Even after fires start there's sometimes more arson to make them worse.
