What does that say about "authorities," though? "Well, we've looked everywhere, so.." "Hey, he's over here!" -random amateurs
And it's for this reason I never leave the safety of downtown living. Where I live there's like samsquatches and shit.
💔
No one should be allowed in NPS without a geo tracker on them. Rent them for $29.99 a day. End of story!
"...BEING MISSING..."?! SMH
Really sad to hear, but a good lesson for solo hikers. 13,000 plus feet is not joke. Quite a few otherwise fit and healthy people get altitude sickness at this elevation. Always best to do this type of a trip with a buddy if possible.
Sincere condolences to his family and friends, and to all those who loved this young man.
And trump is still walking the earth, smfh
I don't have a subscription. Was altitude the cause?
An autopsy will determine the time and cause of death, but the sheriff’s office said it believes Gardner “succumbed to a tragic accident as we all have surmised.” www.mprnews.org/story/2025/0...

It’s a tragic update about a hiker in Wyoming who went missing during a three-day trek and was found deceased after nearly a month of searching, as reported by officials.
Bring a gun, a solar charger and battery charger and a phone when you go hiking.
...and a buddy
...and a whistle.
And not a gun...
Definitely a gun
Have done more than 5,000km of hiking in the mountains of the US, Romania and France/Spain. Never even came close to requiring anything more than my opinel.
I have.

If you need a gun, the country you are in is the problem
It’s for wildlife, my guy. Do you want to be torn to shreds by a grizzly?
1- Seriously, there’s bear spray and other ways to avoid getting hurt without having to kill a wild animal. It’s really a shame to kill creatures that are just living in their own home. Of course, I don’t want anyone to get mauled by a grizzly, ....
2- but whenever possible, solutions other than death should come first.
I agree. It would be the last choice to shoot it but I would definitely want that option, just in case it can’t be dissuaded through other means
I roll 3 dice… critical hit 20! The grizzly is now my mount.
All kinds of dangers out on the trails.
