A low mileage stick shift FIST. Oh that would be fun
A low mileage stick shift FIST. Oh that would be fun
Could literally see the gas needle move when we test drove. And that wasn’t even being too rambunctious with it. I’m also in a pretty hilly area.
Not a problem with my normal Fiesta. It gets amazing gas mileage.
Might just be the FiSTs. Was fun as hell, but I’d go through a tank a bit too easily.
Got 36 MPG last tank commuting to work. Now thats with the horsepower of a 30 year old lawnmower without a spark plug but the stupid car makes me so happy.
I’m lucky to get 30 on Toothless. Walter gets even less. Because he’s Walter.
Those car names sound familiar. What do you drive? Oh and mine is Kermit because it is Bohdi Mint Green
The Subie and the caddy. Names should fit the brand.
Walter is a good name for a Caddy.
It was a good show
If I drove the car for fun then my gas mileage would drop. I lose 3mpg when I use the AC. I might be playing a video game with my average fuel economy gauge. I will win!!
I’m 8.5 years into owning a FiST. Averaging 28.1 MPG over 41k miles. I drive it *hard*. If I FLOG it I can get worse mileage. But that’s holding revs when I should shift, etc.
Maybe it has a tiny tank? We could see the needle move.
It’s a hair over 12 gallons. I’ve filled 12.1 once and it said the range was 3 miles. I always suspect there’s a percentage beyond that. But I’m guessing it’s not much. And I didn’t want to actually starve the fuel senders more than they already were. Internet says 12.4, I’d buy that.
I guess I’m used to our Mazda 3. Giant tank on that.
Fair. When I bought my FiST our other car was a 2012 Mazda3 S-GT (the 2.5l) and it did travel a bit further on a tank of gas. A (completely unsolicited) suggestion for potential next car: Honda Civic Si. Our ‘22 Si has averaged 34.8 MPG over 51K miles. Really fun, manual, stock LSD, great mileage.
We looked at the SI, but the problem at the time was the spouse was commuting 100+ miles one way. Combine that with a need for a hitch for a bike rack. All SIs were the hdmi shaped center exhaust and the exhaust was not an easy bypass.
The latest gen with twin exhausts at the corners makes that a lot easier. But the Mazda3 is a solid commuter and still a blast to drive.
