Do you understand how stupid that statement is ? Any unit of account can define any currency in terms of its unit. Gold can be priced in terms of dollars,yen,euros etc sterling can be denominated in rouble,riad,lira etc This isn't the gotcha you seem to think.

Because you said it had no dollar value. Patently untrue. It is also a great store of value. Is an excellent bearer asset. Has no counter party risk. Solves the double spend problem. Is a money network. Requires no intermediary and is non confiscatable. All uses unrelated to its dollar value.
