I'm going through a similar rigamarole here in Canada with Carney apologists. Being less evil than the alternative doesn't make you good.

Newsom is a vicious little snake who’d sell out anyone given the chance if it helped him even one iota Pritzker is a decent dude by comparison but he’s also a billionaire and while his politics aren’t bad they could be way more left

Trudeau feels like your version of Obama in that both came in with a hope and change narrative, both were wildly disappointing, and both were still probably better than anyone we’ve had during our natural lives, which is painfully depressing
