He has the charisma of a spoon. There is work to do if Vance becomes president to save democracy in America but I think the cult will find him much harder to follow.

A lack of blind electoral support driving party obedience I think will be a legitimate brake. Vance is, I agree, more sincerely extreme than Trump, but also represents a way narrower base.
