Depending how long you've been away there's now a sculpture straddling the river. What has remained the same is how lovely Windsor keeps it awesome parks! Oh, and that hideous casino a few blocks from there :-)

That hideous Casino is the second biggest employer in the city, they give the city something like 1 or 1 and a half% of the profits quaterly, which comes to about 9 million a year. The city uses that money to help fund projects like the Peace Fountain and other stuff, not to mention the tourism $.

I've seen too many friends and people close in whose lives and in some cases, families, destroyed by their addiction to gambling. Casinos simply prey on the sickness of that addiction so I am no fan of legal gambling. Not sure what "degenerate gambler" means on your profile but sure you understand.

The maximun buy in in poker is $500, but you lose that, you can keep rebuying till you stop. I've seen people lose 5 grand just playing poker. these are people who shouldn't be playing it. In one month, I won over a 150 thousand dollars, paid all my bills. won 50 g's playing blackjack 8 times.

You're certainly in a minority! The guy that bought one of my businesses suggested we go to the casino for lunch in the 90s and before we sat down to eat he dropped 5K at blackjack. That started my distaste for legalized gambling which increased after coming into contact with the people I mentioned.

I can't tell you how many people who owned businesses lost so much money that they went bankrupt. There are hundreds of people who I used to see daily in the poker room, that I haven't seen in years, because they lost everyting also. People will gamble because they think they can beat the game.
