I'd argue the "isn't even a candidate" thing - he's absolutely a candidate to the extent anyone is at this point, and the invisible primary has definitely started. Signalling seems appropriate, even if hard "no" statements are probably too far.

Oh absolutely the invisible primary has started! And a lot of folks have funny ideas about their own role or level of importance in it, is kinda my whole thing, heh. 🙃
I mean, I'm talking too! And yeah, the discourse that starts at the grassroots and in places like this DOES filter outward and upward. Or we have to hope so, or what are we doing? We just have to have a realistic sense of the DEGREE of our influence.
