There are protests, but they're actively not televised so as to stifle movements. There are people fighting against bad actors, but they are actively sabotaged by power players. Many places are right-to-work states, where any reason can be levied against a person resulting in their joblessness.

Are you going to pay everyone's rent when they miss a paycheck? Buy them food? Pay their other bulls? Bail them out of jail? Shame on you for thinking people can just ignore their lives and do what you think they should be doing. (Speaking of which: what the fuck are you doing to stop this?)

No! I have not watched idly. Every day is an act of resistance. Shame on you for stuffing all Americans into the same pigeon hole. The fascist party is passing these horrors with the slimmest of margins. One or two votes apiece. Many of us are protesting, writing our congressmen, & doing we can.

Calling for a general strike is not protected speech

Things are still "comfortable" here. Most are content keeping their heads down and working, thinking that it won't hurt them. We've never experienced anything like this, and a whole lot of people have to touch a hot stove to learn. It'll have to get pretty bad for us to do a general strike.

Some are comfortable but the majority are 1 or 2 paychecks away from homelessness without healthcare if we take the time away from work to hit DC which is the only place Trump and Congress will even notice you.

PBS News Hour tonight said CPB is responsible for 15% of funding. They didn’t say much more than that really.

I just tried searching for details of what this actually means, and cannot find any. Are NPR stations and PBS shows just.. completely going away? Drastically scaled back? Idk.

This is so depressing. PBS provided so many great educational shows for kids and adults. Also these kids shows did not have advertisements. Provided great news shows like Frontline and PBS Newshour. No matter what your opinion is, PBS Newshour was ranked as one of the most trusted news sources.
