I do not think Biden or Harris could have won. They had about the same chance of winning and the low infos and new voters broke for Trump. Harris maxed out too. I don't believe more runway would have helped her or if Biden has stepped aside any length of time earlier. But it's just a guess
Dens did better than any other incumbent party in 2024, the world over. If "better than anyone else in the world" wasn't good enough, maybe just maybe there were other factors in play.
No incumbent government in the west survived their elections in 2024. They only started surviving elections after Trump won.
That Trump barely campaigned and still won on the strength (?!?!?!??) of his first presidential term makes it really hard for me to believe anything the Democrats could have done would’ve mattered (found an Obama 2.0 I guess?)
Honestly I feel like not campaigning helped Trump. The media stepped up its efforts to sanewash him, people could project their beliefs onto him, everyone forgot how much they hated him.
Yeah and as others have said, it was a worldwide backlash on inflation. Dems actually fared better by many measures.
