... as American. In the South, there are people doing that all over. We're all Americans because of national ideals and citizenship, not just some subset from race or ethnicity.

with the immigrants & mongrels the north let in, the yankee whites that settled oregon from new england didn't really exist anymore much past reconstruction. so, southern is white now.
