Should. Won't. We need to eject the word "impeachment" from our vocabularies, it's a dead word and a dead concept with no real world meaning. It used to have one, but like so many other concepts, such as "checks & blaances" or "impartial jurisprudence" it's now a purely historical term.

I realize all that comes across as really negative and perhaps it is a little bit. But I just think the first step to solving a problem is recognizing the shape of it. And the truth is our government is structurally incapable of reigning in these bad actors & we need to start with that premise.

America can, should, must, and will do better. Just not with its governmental systems of today intact.

So this is his plan to bully states into abandoning mail-in voting. An EO won't work, and direct withholding of federal funds won't survive the courts, so he has decided to pull big-ticket federal entities out of the states he wants to punish.

I think this particular instance is more the public being functionally illiterate to civics, but generally agree the public is also desensitized to shocking and brazen illegalities of the admin.

(as in) the public is used to administrations making the functional decisions that look like this, and not trained to review similar actions against the anti-deficiency act.

When it all looks normal & is treated as ok by all normal "check" powers (Media, Congress, courts later on when it gets to their pervue), the public will accept it as ok because reading budget appropriations sucks.
