Transphobia in the US doesn’t have an “intellectual wing” the way UK TERFism does (yet, Gavin Newsom seems dead set on changing that), it’s mostly bog-standard hooting right wing xenophobia, but I feel like when it fully forms these are the kinds of arguments it will be making.

it's kind of amazing how I've dealt with people getting inexplicably angry at me for existing in public since I was *six*, way before I knew I was trans/gay or what trans/gay people even were, way before I understood much about my disabilities. oh well at least I'm used to it??????????????

still, one of the first hard truths I remember learning about the world was "if you are different in any visible way, people will not only treat you poorly and make fun of you, they will also act like you are super scary and Hurting People even when you're four feet tall with weak joints, vibing"
