Went to listen to the wonderfully chaotic ramblings of @robinince.bsky.social at the Lowry. In the interval I bought his book. Despite some time in the queue, I forgot to check I had money in my spends account (my money juggling would require another thread on its own) until the point of purchase.
So the very patient bookseller from @chorleywoodbooks.bsky.social waited while I apologetically checked my bank app, then transferred funds. When offered a choice of badge I opted for ‘Weirdly Normal’ over ‘Normally Weird’ as I felt like that described my understanding of my ADHD the best.
I got a strong sense (probably imagined) that the seller was gamely hiding a look that said “I think you picked the wrong one”. Then I went back to my wife waiting nearby and showed her. The first thing she said was, “You picked the wrong one.”
