i don't even think they believe it's reasonable. israel just knows that at this point they could blame an airstrike on the tooth fairy and there would be no consequences.

I'm inclined to think that the 20 civilians murdered was the true objective, especially the five journalists portion of those civilians, and they are just using whatever justification they like once the dust settles. Military strike to destroy a camera? Sure, not like anyone is gonna stop em.

There is a certain level of dictatorship where the leadership make the boldest, most obvious lies, and just see who nods and says "yup that happened". Same as Putin saying the initial Crimea invaders were just "soldiers taking a vacation".

As usual, that's a lie. They were both airstrikes. Doesn't really matter though. The entire system that led to this, the chain of command that ordered it and the soldier who executed were built on purpose for this. The size, type and means of delivery are of no importance, it's just a red herring.

I agree with the 2nd paragraph, but do you have any proof that they were air strikes, or just going on vibes? The explosion I’m seen on video seems to be from a smaller munition than you’d normally see from a dropped bomb or guided missile.

And the media (and the public) taking the bait. If anything, troops on the ground have better ISR, airborne have aerial view while ground have aerial+ground, and more time for decision-making, so if the munition came from the ground, it would be an aggravating factor, not a disculping one.

Absolutely this, Marisa. Israel can murder with impunity and does so daily. It beats its breast occasionally, saying 'this shouldn't have happened' and opens an inquiry. It closes the file immediately & it's never mentioned again. Repeat.
