Our team did a lot of work in PA in 2024 for our political series on forgotten America. We spent two days talking to rural voters suggesting this might happen but not enough listened. It’s hard to not say FAFO seeing this. Instead, we’ll say this — Sheetz is gross. WaWa is vastly superior.

Grew up in the gobbling land of Turkey Hill; worked in grimy 7-11 hell; raised a family in glorious Wawaland; retired to Sheetzsylvania. Sheetz has its moments, I cannot deny it, & they pay well & offer benefits. But Wawa is putting in a store only 15 minutes away next year. (TRUMP...is gross.)

We loved Turkey Hill. We were there during the eggnog ice cream season. We often reflect on our time in the Commonwealth fondly based upon our gastronomic experiences.

I recently saw a sign for a Turkey Hill in western Ohio; had no idea they'd expanded out of their home territory! I used to drink the TH Iced Tea by the half gallon. It wasn't great iced tea, but I liked it, whatever it was. (Good for mixing with vodka, too!)

Looks like GV Foods will be making the killing this season. Those bags of candy were already over-priced. If it costs anywhere near a meal for my family I’m not buying it. Time to go back to home-baked cookies like all the grandmas would give trick-or-treaters when I was a kid.
