US bonds and equities have shown a relatively muted reaction so far to last night’s news, with the most notable early move being something that we have been talking about for much of the advanced world — a further steepening of the yield curve, with 30‑year yields up 4.2 basis points while 2-year…

Pushing for Powell’s ouster is neither of those. Fed independence is critical

It is extremely disappointing that the US business community is too cowardly to speak up against the destruction of our democratic institutions and the blatant corruption of this administration. Wealth obviously doesn’t empower them to speak truth to power. Cowards.

Wall Street still thinks they’ll end up ok but the crypto/tech oligarchy will eventually destroy them too. Slowly and then all at once.

Sad truth: Equity markets don't care because... it's NVDA earning week. Not may retail investors (especially the kind addicted to social networks and behind the meme stocks wave) will sell their stocks and miss the opportunity. Today, in 2025, the US market is a very frivolous super-greedy market.

I don't know why it's a surprise to anyone Trump would try to end and independent Fed. The only question is whether the SCOTUS will let him do it. They are torn between their ideological idea of a unitary executive, and their corporate overlords.
