Because atheists are known for their love and acceptance for people who think differently than they do?

I mean, I've never read an atheist guidebook that told me owning slaves and beating them was ok...
So then, nobody was enslaving anyone until religion came along and said it was ok?
Atheists are the ones who ended slavery, and led the fight for civil rights?
Atheists criticize religion. Not necessarily religious people. Big difference. Atheists can of course also be evil or hateful people. But that hate is not expressed in the name of atheism. Again very different with religion.
I think the meme was harsh, yeah—but responding by attacking atheists just shifts the blame and adds more aggression to the conversation. Wouldn't it be better to talk about the actual issue rather than deflect? While I'm not hateful because I'm an atheist
I disagree with that meme having no nuance to point out it's not religious people that are the problem but abusive religious leaders I disagree and renounce any statements targeting hatred towards people for their beliefs that's what you just did and it's not fair to respond to a criticism however
Needlessly Harsh and aggressive with a similar hostility and aggressive tone we should as both communities for faithful and faithless aim to build bridges not tear them down
Yeah no I understand that point and I think that's where most churches fail they give one person power who to some point holds some agenda that's why I'd never blame the believers but I think organized religions are needlessly risky to the true message of the scripture

😏 As atheist myself, I could´t agree more.
Atheists just don’t want to have to engage your religion. They’ll be pretty vocal about the fact that they don’t believe it but they don’t want you removed from public life, they just want public spaces to be equally enjoyable by people of all beliefs.
Lots of religious people feel the exact same way, myself included. Glad we agree!
I'm a Christian, but the atheists I know are much more Christian than some that are calling themselves Christians, morals do not come from religion for sure.
I feel mostly the same as you. I see lots of Christians full of hate, and lots of people of other/no religion full of love. But, where do you think Western morals come from? I don't think we really see a lot of things like the inherent value of human life in ancient cultures.
As it turns out, "western morals" are just a ton of hot air.
