the general consensus is that it's not special now. they recently approached me and tried to hire for some dingus AI thing (after initially painting it as an infosec role of some sort) and i just lmao'd my way out of there. i would not have lmao'd my way out 15 or so years ago
Good luck dodging the annual redundancies. especially once you're there less than 2 years so they can escape statutory.
yeah think i've been yoinked out of various positions about 4 times over 18 years at this point, and i didn't even work at a FAANG. when i give talks to graduating uni students about getting into tech these days i have to gently break it to them that the jobs aren't exactly thick on the ground
