And what's so sad is that this ages-old devaluation of women and girls was starting to get a foothold on changing in the last half-century or so. Now Trump and his cohorts have set that clock back 50 years, hoping and working for many more. Pre-Enlightenment would suit them.

These pedophile protectors are rotten to their cores. How much progress has been made if a dead woman was forced to give birth? If women are dying for lack of care? If women of color still die too often because of bigotry? Seems like a lot of men have no issue w/ current events. It’s exasperating.

Yes, it sure is exasperating, to put it mildly. It's also infuriating, not only to/for women, but to any man who values and respects his own humanity, not to mention the rights and dignity of others.

If I'd lived in Texas or other states with hateful ignorant evil laws against women I would be dead now. My child would be dead. I once read that if men could get pregnant abortions would be available at ATM machines.

Yeah, I can't figure out why we make up 52% of the population and are still letting them treat us like 2nd class citizens!

As a child in the 60's & 70's I remember female relatives saying to my feminist mom, "Well, I don't think your husband would like it if you ________________ fill in the blank." She supported reproductive & financial rights & college for girls. She kept up the fight until she passed last year at 95.

She passed away in October 2024 and I miss her so much. She had three daughters and was a big influence on her two grandsons and her granddaughter. I wish she could have seen a woman president in her lifetime.

I also felt strongly about a post I read by a woman pointing out that her male partner was not harassed upon arrival, was not forced to listen to counselors, and was not forced to wait 48 hours, before he could receive a vasectomy.

The hypocrisy is stark. It always has been. We are 52% of the population and we’re letting them keep us 2nd class citizens. I guess not enough of us are sick of it. When we decide we are, we’d be unstoppable.

I don’t know. Our gender has fought spectacularly hard and many of us mourn the shocking loss of 50 years of progress w/in very recent history. I don’t know how to parse that the majority of females voted for a return to full oppression. Maybe they don’t comprehend the lives of women BEFORE 1970?

It didn’t become legal for women to have their own credit cards until 1974!! I’m sure it has something to do with generations & generations of women being told by generations & generations of men that they are only valuable as sexual objects.

I KNOW!!! Remember when Nixon tried out universal income? The female suicide rate dropped 20% and women left their husbands in droves when given a hope of financial agency. Nixon ended it. There are so many outrages that are possibly unknown to women who keep voting against themselves.

My optimistic self calls it willing ignorance. But I also know how hard it is to break away from the indoctrination. I fell for parts of it, still do. It’s an onslaught of propaganda women aren’t taught to resist the patriarchy of course. And too few boys have even heard the word “patriarchy”!
