No app & don't want it. How do I deactivate my account without it or delete the account?
Would be great if I could at least start the app on Android... Crashes every single time I try to start it.
This is why I like bluesky bc it's not a 30 days thing & I can come back whenever. @alcahona.bsky.social
How can I Alert to a scam across Bluesky? Old story, romance, haven't lost money, but am expecting ask. Moved over to Google texting. Gramatical syntax is not American. Says wife is dead, but refers to in present tense. Can I warn w/o leaving myself open to lawsuit? Can I call Bluesky to discuss.
Do old posts come back when the account is reactivated?
yes, everything stays where it was
Can you guys also add an optional deactivation message field? People deactivate for a lot of different reasons, and if they wanted to leave some context for people it would be nice!
No, let it be simple, more choices more chaos.
Is there a visible difference for clicking the link of a deleted account vs a deactivated one?

Can't correct details so want to close account but no settings tab to do this!
Will this deactivate the account for all clients or just for the official bsky.app?
I presume this will work like a mass ban: When the account asks for the information to the server that holds the handle that is being searched (or the post that is referenced), the server will tell them "I got nothing to show".
Assuming everything fetching posts via bluesky will see them as inaccessible. Third party mirrors will need to check for deactivation and should comply in restricting access (just like how they currently are asked to respect the account setting for not showing posts to logged out users)
Since deactivating is fully temporary, it should be possible to: 1) see threads with posts from the deactivated account, unbroken, with each post reading "deactivated" instead of "deleted," and 2) block an account while it is deactivated.
