Blocking only works on interfaces that implement the blocking system. This site has an open protocol. All it takes is an app/website that ignores blocking, and then there’s no blocking. This isn’t a technical issue; it’s a community regulation issue. It’s an issue of “will we tolerate intolerance?”

You know what we do on the Discord server I co-administrate comes across someone who’s been consistently a problem on other sites/servers? We either ban them or preemptively disinvite them from the server. It’s not that hard. We have to protect the people who depend on us to moderate.
And so far? I think we do a pretty solid job of keeping people feeling safe. Granted, the server *is* invite only to begin with.
That *does* also do a lot. Even so, care goes a long way to keeping a clean and safe home.

I genuinely have absolutely no idea what happened here but one of my followers blocked me for asking him about the "pedophilia" label he espoused and asking what happened? When I actually agreed with that on it's own harassment and all that should get him banned. But even asking that he blocked me.
