It’s fun to laugh, but also this is, like most of what these two do, propaganda to justify taking away health care.

They just couldn’t fall could they
Where's that Van Halen soundtrack?
Oz definately avoids leg day.
Who knew that Nazis like hiking and sunshine just like we do?
Is RFK in the never nude club? He hikes in triple digit temps in jeans, works out in jeans…Does he wear jeans in the shower?
Please don’t make me picture him in jorts.
What a couple of performative bullshit slingers.
“‘How do we get down?’ We call the fire department! Haven’t you done this before?”
It's a shame they didn't fall off. We would all benefit from that.
Insanity.
Seems like a good venue for the Kennedy Curse to strike.
It would be funny if those two losers weren’t going to get millions of Americans killed.
It's a family tradition: Dr. Max Jacobson prepares a syringe for Kennedy friend...
It’s not subtle. The implication is the only reason you need Medicaid is you didn’t walk 15 minutes a day. And you are therefore “lazy” and undeserving. Of course, it’s a lie. Even athletic people need health care! But in our puritanical culture, people buy this shit.
Biology comes for everyone sooner or later and in the case of Dr Oz I sincerely hope it’s sooner.
Nailed it. See also the outrage of people who say "But I always ate healthy food and exercised regularly!" when they are diagnosed with chronic or serious diseases. Lowering your odds is great, but sometimes your number comes up.
Also it isn’t just sick people who need health care. Part of being healthy is prevention like regular checkups.
Excellent point. Pap smears and colonoscopies aren't free.
Especially the kind of regular checkups that include heath/wellness advice relevant to the specific patient.
Right wingers took great offense at Michelle Obama working on getting school kids to eat healthy (the original MAHA influencer). And the laziest and most unhealthy of our citizens are decidedly MAGA. Exercise is obviously great for physical and mental health, but it ain't health insurance.
Stress is far worse for health.
One of the most culture shocking things about moving to northern California (once upon a time) is how common this line of thinking is among seemingly normal, otherwise liberal folks who are into the fitness stuff.
The crunchy mom to alt right pipeline is very real
People are always comparing what they do to everyone else, so if you run everyday and stay thin, it's easy to get into a mindset that all the people who don't are bad somehow
I feel sorry for anyone that buys into this B.S.
I can't imaging why anyone listens to these charlatans. It's especially pathetic when this kind of misinformation is being spread by people with "medical degrees" who SHOULD know better.
I don't know who Mehmet thinks he's kidding. Turkey is buying up a lot of healthcare 'privatization' in Canada, and he is a Turkish citizen/voter... I doubt they're not doing same in US and there is no chance he's not rep'ing them. Oz is a fraud and a traitor.
I'd have to dig into the numbers, but I bet a significant percentage of Medicaid enrollees *already* walk 15+ minutes a day. Whether as family caregivers and/or in the paid jobs that most of them have.
People are living longer which puts more boomers in the crosshairs for diseases and conditions that wouldn’t have affected people in the 20th century because people died sooner. MAHA is political theater, with no connection to medical science. It’s woo as conservative rhetoric.
The jeans are part of the propaganda, I suspect. The implication is that you have no excuse, if RFK can do it at 70 in jeans.
Yeas, he has great jeans.
My guess is RFK Jr has unattractive legs. Always wears jeans whether he's working out or swimming in polluted waterways.
Track marks from heroine.
Good point!
With a little help from steroids.
That's his gym kit radaronline.com/p/rfk-jr-wor...
Or you can be eating McDonald’s hamberders all day while playing golf and believing your phony doctors tell everyone that because you wear 3” lifted shoes, you’re not obese for your fake height and fake weight. That “good genes” makes you the healthiest president of all time.
I imagine that if they had said "Sell your car and walk everywhere to save yourself thousands of dollars a year!" there would be a lynch mob outside congress again. Probably the same crowd members too.
People that exercise more might need less expensive health care so we should really use that saving to buy infrastructure that encourages everyone to walk everywhere instead of being forced to drive. But they won’t do that.
In this context I often think of Jim Fixx, the guy who first popularized exercise as a magic fix for all one's health issues, and ignored medical advice to monitor his physical condition more closely. Died of a heart attack during his daily jog.
The truly sad part is that there was no one waiting at the top of the cliff to push them off.
In jeans, no less
These people sure have a lot of free time. One loose rock would have made my day.
I couldn't help but notice that the camera pushed in a bit when they were climbing the rock. One suspects it wasn't very high up.
For fux sake.
