Without US drug consumption and arms supply, there would be no drug cartels in Mexico or Central America

True. They have the commodity, the world wants it. However, it wasn’t the rest of the world arming the cartels. That’s mainly on us. And we are major consumers.

They don’t have to go that far. The US junkies are their primary market.

The “junkies” are people preyed upon by the LEGAL drug cartel we call Perdue Pharma. Oxycontin is responsible for the soaring heroin & fentanyl addiction problem in America. Try viewing them as addicts in need of medical help, not dirty criminals. Empathy works!

Agreed. However, a different subject. I was speaking about drug cartels, not pharma, in Americas. Not only do we need better addiction centers but we also need to keep predatory religious groups from profiteering off addicts and their families. ie; scientology recruits from their addiction programs.

Even religious people often choose recovery programs that aren't faith based. In LifeRing Secular Recovery, for example, a notable number of our members have spiritual or religious beliefs. But they prefer our self-empowerment, individualized approach better.

Without a "war on drugs", the whole problem would go away entirely of its own.
