I didn’t know any Muslims on 9/11 when I was a very small child, but on 10/7 about half my coworkers were Palestinian or other Arab in ancestry. The only emotion that day was pure dread. I can’t imagine the fear Arab Americans felt on 9/11.

Normal people don’t celebrate death, and the only normal reaction to 9/11 or 10/7 is dread. And yet both have lead to even more hatred, exactly as hoped for by the terrorists, even if their immediate goals failed. “Just stop fucking bombing people” should be simple enough, and yet.
