TERFS/anti-trans activists/GCs believed trans people didn't really exist and if society started punishing transness we would start conforming to cis expectations. They are FURIOUS that we're still as trans as ever, because it shows how wrong they were. So they just keep escalating the punishment.

An important point. They don’t believe us and I believe that disbelief drives their messaging, policy, and the ways they’re attempting to eliminate us. Deny our existence in any sort of public acknowledgment and we’ll disappear. And of course GAC shouldn’t be offered for something that isn’t real.

In fact, their insistence that trans people are unreal somehow hinges on our real, actual existence. We're a real threat because we're unreal, and should be made unreal accordingly. So our unreality is prescriptive rather than descriptive.
