My thoughts when facing this issue is stick with LR. It’s good and will only get better. And no extra €€€

Yeah I think so too. Just would be nice to get a better desktop experience with Lightroom Cloud version on Mac... feels like the web app that it sort of is. Buggy as hell, but I value the iOS/iPadOS versions enough to live with it! :)
