Extreme left, extreme right, in the end it matters little which way a society goes. The end games are indistinguishable.

The key word, "extreme"

The extreme ends of the political spectrum, ironically, coincide in many ways: and this is one of them. Dictatorships and police states: superb.

Russia is not even remotely "left". It's unbridled capitalism - pure fascism.

Maybe it should be clearer. Why do you understand by "extreme left" - because to me that's extreme kindness, extreme help to those most in need - which is quite the opposite of fascism that oppresses minorities & those that are "othered". Please explain it to me, if you will.

Left means taking control away from individuals and place that control with collectives. The more left you go the more that control is taken away until there is nothing left and you are no more than an ant in an ant colony. Soviet Union, North Korea, China pre-1970s were/are all extreme left

None of those have "collective" governance. They are all centralised control by a dictator. Russia is unrestrained capitalism - a model Trump is about to emulate. Collective governance is, by definition, democratic. The committee must be elected & regularly confirmed by voting.

This is nonsense. The Soviet model of communism was totalitarian by design. Communism does not necessarily have to be of that design. It can be entirely democratic. Communism is an economic system. Totalitarian is a political system.

You can have totalitarian purely free market systems as well.

You are contradicting yourself. Agreeing with my OP, but throwing in a wild “communism can be entirely democratic” when that has never been observed. I’m observing what I observe. You can call it nonsense all you like, I am still seeing reality in front of my eyes. Not sure what you’re looking at.

What "communism" are you looking at? No country in the world is actually following Marxist principles. Cuba is probably the nearest & it is also one of the better examples of equality. Countries with high
