I lived in Turkey in the ‘70s and there were armed military everywhere. We felt the same…lucky to live in a country where that didn’t happen.

I traveled there, and we were warned never to go anywhere near any military building, and never never to take a picture.

We loved living there. My husband was stationed with NATO Land southeast in Izmir. He enlisted in the Army as he had a low draft number and didn’t want to be sent to Vietnam.
