The problem is that once you open it your badges and access codes, etc are revoked and payroll stops. I' not certain that they could accuse you of trespass if you stayed but... unless you are in charge of nuclear defense... why stay?

Yes but don't be too impressed... Dick Cheney started cooking up the full presidential powers thing when Nixon was in office. He kept improving it until Bush Jr wr3ecked the coutnry and Dick had a heart attack. Ironically, he is not fond of the ungrateful beneficiaries of his efforts.
