Did it ever occur to you that you might be mistaken, that your supposed antagonists aren't trolls? That their ideas and criticisms of the party might be accurate? That your rejection of their criticisms is motivated more by the rote of ideology rather than by introspection and critical thought?

No it wasn’t like that really. You see I’m Canadian and my interest is in seeing Trump stopped by a third impeachment before he turns his attention to annexing us. Those guys, and probably you want to deflect from the redistricting duel to an election in 3 years when that’s not important now.

Sorry you missed the boat. I want to see California, along with every other blue state, add as many more Democratic seats to the House as they are able. Why on earth would you believe I want to deflect from an issue that hasn't been mentioned in this thread?

Also, a third impeachment won't stop Trump unless the Senate votes to convict, which they steadfastly refused to do after the first two impeachments. What do you think would occur if Trump attempted to annex Canada? I do not think that would end well.

No but impeachment could sure put a stranglehold on his agenda. I don’t think it’ll end well either if Trump gets more aggressive and I don’t want to find out. He’s certainly ramping up his attacks on US cities. Not much is off the table.

I think impeachment without the certainty of conviction and removal from office would strengthen Trump's claims his policies and actions are legitimate. Of course the media would amplify those lies. Our best course of action is to cultivate overwhelming disapproval of Trump by the general public.

'Purity tests' are a device some Democrats employ to reconcile their favored candidate's profoundly immoral behavior, and to pressure others to abandon their principles and vote for that candidate. Why would you vote for a bigot, sexual predator or someone who is otherwise immoral and unprincipled?

What are you talking about here? This issue is about voting for a ballot measure to protect US democratic republic, not some cult figure like Trump.

I can’t see the blocked post now but aren’t you the one talking about an election that is 3 years away? While the main issue is having balanced maps next year for an election that Newsom has no part in. And so support for Newsom and California redistricting measures is not supporting a candidate.

I’ve mentioned the redistricting fight because talking about Newsom as an 028 nominee is premature and destructive to the redistricting issue that he’s leading, and the world can’t afford that now. Newsom isn’t passing any purity tests and who gives a shit anyway when the president is a criminal.
