Neither of these parties care about the non-rich. I remember Chris Murphy giving an interview after the election and admitted that the priorities of the rich have overtaken any other priorities in the party because of donations. The apathy we see simply reflects current party values.

This is in part because of how the political class (because of their donors) have basically handed over any agency they had to do things to The Markets. Nothing can be done unless it's ok by and works for, The Market. Can't invest resources unless their is a monetary return, when we should be

looking at this in terms of Human Capital Investment, the way China has done it. They have no problem building a shit ton of housing, even at a loss, knowing it's going to house people who will then be able to become productive in the economy. If they were homeless, they wouldn't be able to. Simple.

Easy way to break this down too is just look at how short our projections are (Quarterly) vs. how China looks at their projections (Multiple year almost by the decade). There's a reason why they as a society have been able to exist for almost 5000 years and it has a lot to do with patience.
