why does every modern cartoon reboot rely entirely of modern tech and trends for story telling, futurama was the same way. Can't they come up with interesting stories that just so happen to be taking place now without fixating on it.

Dale in a VR headset feels...so out of character. Even if that's not one of those "facebook acc required" ones like. VR headsets usually require a lot of cameras. I don't see someone as paranoid as Dale willingly getting into that. Idk maybe I'm overthinking a show I don't even like that much.

The only way this is in character for me is he's using it to "spy" on the corporations "spying" on him.
