For clarity, do you mean “the pedo’s dead” bestie ?
😀 both.
I’m just trying to figure out who is the pedo and who is dead. 😝😂😝
Count Thomas Jefferson in that list of predominately white males. I still have trouble understanding his strongly held beliefs that "All men are created equal" and "life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness" when he was a lifelong slave holder. Not just that, he had some slaves more equal than others.
Jefferson eventually realized that slavery had to go, even as a slave owner. He also knew that there would be civil war with the planter class if the anti-slavery crowd were to force the issue after independence.
I am very skeptical about the reverence given to the founding fathers today, when today things are extremely different than they were back in circa 1800. Like depending on Henry Ford for guidance on all things transportation today.
The Founding Fathers consciously established the system and principles that later enabled the abolition of slavery. That's what the reverence is for. No one ever claimed they were perfect.
Not by this administration. In fact, Trump is trying to downplay slavery, by preventing the true history of it from being taught in places like The Smithsonian. Politicians frequently cite the Founding Fathers in positive terms, but hardly ever in negative terms.
And the reverence given to musk on all thing space...
