Do you ever wish that you knew less about our current affairs, especially politics? We laugh at people who don’t pay attention to politics, but I think that would be a happier existence. Like… to be THIS separation from politics. Is that heaven?

Actually I hate them. It is their duty as citizens to know what our leaders are doing and their disinterested laziness is an insult to the graves overlooking Normandy beaches, Arlington Cemetery, to the Stars on the wall at the CIA, to the lives of their children and grandchildren and our planet.

My husband was always the political one untll 2016. I became fully engaged. It was a less stressful place when I did not pay attention. Having said that, one of the reasons we are where we are is because not enough of us care to engage and find out what is happening to this country.

I personally think it’s extremely important to follow politics especially now. Look at the people that don’t and have no clue what the hell is happening and who to vote for because they hear something from the media or acquaintances and believe it without fact checking it. Look where we are now! 😡

Yep. I said to a friend last night that what’s best for my mental health is to not pay attention. However, if you do that, you’re not an informed citizen. In todays climate it’s impossible to pay attention and not be affected mentally. Seeing how they are destroying this country takes a toll.

I went from part-time to full-time in various aspects of politics almost 25 years ago. Sometimes I get burnt out and wish I'd just ignored politics and chosen some other career instead of giving in to my junkie urge. But it's a little late to change my mind now.
