I always wonder what people in other nations think democracy and elections in New Zealand are like when I explain I go to the local supermarket to cast my vote in the local election. (I'm not even gonna get into the whole landlords get multiple votes quirk.)

From what I understand, landlords get a vote in local elections for the properties they own. So say if I own an apartment in Auckland while living in Wellington, I will also get a vote in the Auckland election?
