I saw Bob Hope perform live when I was a kid, and it was life-changing. A few years later, I saw old-ass Bill Maher roll up to a USC sorority, stick his head out of a limo, and yell, "Who wants to have sex with Bill Maher??" I assume that was also life-changing... for the freshman who left with him.

Thank you. I can't defend the last 30 years of Bob's work (except maybe his "Muppet Show" appearance), but one reason he lasted so long phoning-it-in is because he could adapt and listen to his audience.

Bill Maher is the worst type of "comic". His jokes are weak and always prey on the disadvantaged. He's pathetic and filters his audience. Bob Hope was born in 1903. 1903! And he had more balls and comic talent than Maher ever could.
