When new tech is introduced which make a process easier, it creates technical debt. The word de-skilling was misused here btw, as it actually means the need for labor is eliminated through the introduction of new tech. AI does cause deskilling, but that's not what this is. This is technical debt.

Furthermore, this is not unique to AI at all. It is very important to understand this as many people just seek to blame AI for things without actual critical thought or consideration for technical progress. Very few people understand what about AI is worth criticizing, and what is worth embracing.

I don’t know where I said this was unique to AI? Automation complacency occurs in lots of contexts.

You didn't, and I wasn't arguing with you, just adding some more context and bringing up the deskilling thing. My response was not intended to be critical, my bad.
