We noticed heaps of Pōhutukawa in bloom in Auckland a couple of weeks ago
Whaaaat? Are you sure they weren’t rātā?
Kermadec species? Flowers intermittently and at different times to our mainland species.

We had 6 Tūi chasing each other between Aloe Speciosa flowers and a kōwhai that's already flowering today. Great to watch.
Awesome!! The tree I was photographing today must have had over 20 in it. Normally they are extremely territorial but today they all seemed far too busy having a feast to worry about each other!
