"Serious about safety" is a frame cj reform folks use as an alternative to suggesting crime "isn't a problem" but short of calling for more policing and incarceration...Dems would benefit from using it more often

Good messaging! Also, Trump supporters like that he is “doing something”, even if it is ineffective, or even harmful, performative bullshit. But I think Dems could learn from that for many issues, presenting not just smart policies but actions that people see/relate to. cc:Schumer/Jeffries

Trump has so far conned everyone into believing that deploying the national guard is "free" when it is costing more than $1M/day. Trump's genius up to this point has been in getting the media to credibly parrot the idea that the bill wont ever come due.
