This is a good take. Alternatively, the hire car I had recently made an interminable, shrill beeping sound every time I nudged even 1mph over the limit. The centrist view would be that at least this could be compulsory in all vehicles!

I would rather they just be automatically limited than the beeping. I can't stand the no seat belt beep. I will put my seatbelt on after getting the mail at our cluster box then going down the 15 mph road in our no outlet street just because it will start beeping 2 houses before I get to mine.

Loan ‘25 XC40 did this while my car was in the garage You could mute it via the steering wheel each journey but there was no way to physically disable it for good

This is how they shut up the anti seatbelt people! Not by “debating” them, just by making it annoying to not wear one.

Omg I was in Romania a couple years ago and there are people who just drive around with that seatbelt alarm dinging the entire time, like old people and blinkers, only so much louder

I had a car like this recently and it was a life saver! I was in Europe and had never driven in Km/h and had little intuitive sense of what day 70km/h felt life. Put this in all cars!
