No surprise here. My sister died from Covid when a blood clot lodged in her brain stem (before the vaccines were available). Oh, the irony! She was a trumper and thought Covid was nothing, so she didn’t bother to protect herself. Politics aside, I still miss her every day. Such an unnecessary waste.

He admitted to Woodward in Feb, 2020 that it was worse than flu yet denied it for most of the year and neged vaccines in lieu Ivermectin etc. So many women said that their husbands would be alive if not for Trump!

No surprises at all to anyone who knows the first thing about vaccines - a vaccine is enough like the disease it protects against to make the body react similarly but not as intensely. The strongest probability was always whatever the vaccine did the virus did worse.
I worked in the medical field during Covid, and I can definitely tell you that before Covid immunization people were dying by the masses. Not so much after the immunizations. So yeah.
It’s sad, but stupid people just don’t get the simple fact that people’s body chemistry is different. The reason some people either didn’t get Covid, or got mild cases is because they had the right body chemistry for that strain of the virus. Not getting vaxed is like gambling with your life.
What added to the puzzle is that my sister was educated and had above-average intelligence. Her husband indoctrinated her into faux news/rethuglican non-thinking.

ER doctor here. In March 2023 and for several months on I would always challenge deniers to come to my ER and see the horrors I was seeing. IT WAS FUCKING REAL. And a conservative approach was totally warranted. You did not want the initial variant without a vaccine.
Pulm provider here and similar story through Delta and Omicron. I wish these people could have witnessed what we saw.
My healthy son died from Covid. He was a Trumper who fell for the lies Trump and his flunkies told about Covid being the flu. We argued about masks. He was not allowed inside the house because we had a baby inside. He passed Covid to 5 other family members! I'm still angry about his death.

I’m sorry for your loss.. also the link between covid and clotting is not newly known, just being confirmed by ongoing studies.… Healthcare providers had to report all Covid cases and data were showing very early on that the virus, unusually, was causing clotting in many throughout the body.

What a tragedy. I lost my sister 10 years ago to suicide. You never forget or forgive the system that let it happen. I work on giving funds to organisations that would have helped her and also volunteering for candidates who would pass policy that would have helped her.

Yes, that is true. However, with proper services to support her she would probably have made a different choice. She's missing out on her lovely daughter getting married and a grandchild amongst many other wonderful things.

I was relatively lucky. My blood-clots settled in the major veins in my groin. Living in the UK I was taken to the best hospital in my area where they dealt with it all. BTW it is news to me that vaccines cause blood-clots at all. Is that another MAGA fantasy?

Which government? Trump 45 was in charge of the development of the vaccine and Covid protocols. Then Biden was elected and mostly did away with masking, shut downs, etc. Now Trump 47 is in charge and these studies are being released. So who exactly is spreading misinformation?
The “misinformation” in the linked story is referring to misinfo in the UK.. re: release of info., studies have been ongoing. And data was showing very early on in the pandemic from health data that blood clotting anywhere the body is a major characteristic of Covid.
But that presumes you’re reading, actual news and not right wing sources.. I read about the clotting in the NYT as well as in NIH reports. The more you inform yourself with actual facts, the more you informed you are.

I was afraid of getting boosters after hearing about so many people getting strokes. I had initial two vaccines and got Covid around time first booster came out. Then about two years later I had to have pulmonary embolism for clots. Had them in legs and lungs 🫁 and 9 blood tests all negative
