My uneducated feeling is that it's because Bluesky isn't connected to the Old Blogosphere as tightly as Twitter was. The early adopters and frequent posters here don't really respect the Nate Silvers of the world and that drives the Nate Silvers of the world absolutely insane.
kevin drum finally succumbed to cancer at the exact right time. his waymo & ai taeks over the past ten years were already too much, but i think his & his sensible republican panera lunch friend's taeks on the occupation of los angeles & dc would have give me another aneurysm.
I'm talking out of my ass, though. It just feels like a lot of the "bluesky is dead, bluesky is bad" talk is motivated by folks mad that it's the first platform to compete with Twitter in a notable way (and that they've got less influence here than they did on twitter)
